This Privacy Policy explains how SIMMER DATING LTD (“we”, “us”, “our”) processes personal data when you use Omera, our mobile application.
Omera is currently offered only to users located in England, United Kingdom

1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Personal information you disclose to us
In short: We collect personal information that you provide directly.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you:
register for an account;
create or update your profile;
upload photos or dishes;
interact with other users (e.g. messages);
contact us; or
take part in events, surveys, or promotions.
Personal information provided by you
Depending on the features you use, this may include:

phone number
email address
date of birth
profile location (general area/city)
pronouns
height
ethnicity
job/occupation
political view
education level
languages spoken
pets
dating intentions
relationship type
family plans
children preferences
vices (e.g. smoking, drinking, drug and marijuana consumption)
photos and images you upload (profile, dishes, etc.)
sexual orientation
answers to prompts and quizzes
event participation information
We do not ask you to create a password for Omera. Authentication is handled via phone verification and/or third-party login providers (Google, Apple, Facebook).
Sensitive information (special category data)
We process this special category data only with your explicit consent, which you provide when you choose to include this information in your profile. You may remove this information at any time:
data about sex life or sexual orientation;
information revealing race or ethnic origin;
information revealing political opinions;
other data you choose to share in prompts or your profile which may reveal sensitive characteristics.
You are not required to share this information, but some features of a dating app depend on this kind of data (for example, matching based on orientation or preferences).
Social login data
If you choose to register or log in using a third-party account (e.g. Google, Apple, Facebook), we receive limited information from that provider, such as:
name
email address
profile picture
We do not receive your password, and we do not automatically import your friends list or contact book.
Application and device data
Geolocation Information (App)
Omera uses location data solely to provide core functionality such as event discovery and local relevance.
Precise Location (Device GPS – Session Only)
With your permission, Omera may access your device’s precise location (GPS-level data) while the App is actively in use.
Precise location data:
is processed locally on your device;
is not stored on our servers;
is not retained after the session ends;
is not linked to your account identity.
This data is used only to:
· ensure the App is being used within our supported geographic area;
· detect location inconsistencies that may indicate fraudulent or automated account activity;
· support platform safety and integrity.
You may withdraw permission for precise location access at any time via your device settings.
City-Level Location (Stored)
During profile setup, you provide or confirm your city or general location.
City-level location:
is stored as part of your profile;
does not include exact GPS coordinates;
is used to show relevant events and support geographic matching.
Approximate Location from IP Address
We may also process approximate regional location inferred from your IP address for:
security and fraud prevention;
analytics;
basic service optimisation.
Omera does not:
continuously track your device’s location;
store precise GPS coordinates;
sell or share location data for advertising;
use location for cross-app tracking.
Mobile device and technical data
When you use the App, we may automatically collect certain technical information, such as:
device model and manufacturer
operating system and version
app version
language and region settings
anonymised device and application identifiers used by our analytics/notification tools
IP address (or proxy)
mobile network provider
crash reports and diagnostic logs
which features/screens you use and when
This information is used to operate and secure the App, troubleshoot issues, and understand usage so we can improve Omera.
Push notifications
We may send you push notifications (e.g. matches, messages, event updates). You can control push notifications in your device settings.
All personal information you provide must be accurate and kept up to date. You should update your profile if your details change.
Information collected automatically on our website
When you visit our website (e.g. simmerdating.co.uk), we may automatically collect:
IP address
browser type and version
device type
pages visited and referring URLs
timestamps and basic interaction data
This is used for security, basic analytics, and to maintain the website.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In short: To run Omera as a dating and social events app, improve it, keep it safe, and comply with the law.
We use your personal information to:
Create and manage your account
Allow you to sign up, log in (including via social logins), maintain your profile, and manage your settings.Provide the core dating and events features
Show and suggest other profiles, enable matching and messaging, display your dishes and prompts, and let you view or join events.
When you attend an Omera event, we may use your attendance information to enable other attendees to view your profile within the App after the event, so that you can choose whether to connect.
Facilitate user-to-user communication
Enable chat between matched users and other communication features we provide.Personalise your experience
Tailor who you see (and how often) based on your preferences and profile, and show relevant content and events.
Automated matching and profiling
Omera uses automated systems to suggest potential matches based on the information you provide (such as preferences, location, and profile details). These systems do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects. You remain in control of who you match with and interact with.
Maintain safety and integrity
Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, harassment, and other harmful behaviours. This may include reviewing reported profiles or messages in line with our Terms.
We may use automated tools, including image moderation technology and keyword detection systems, to detect and prevent content that breaches our Terms or applicable law. In some cases, reported messages or content may be reviewed manually by authorised personnel.
Provide support and communicate with you
Respond to requests, send service-related messages (e.g. account changes, policy updates), and answer questions.Improve the App and our business

Location Data Legal Basis
Precise GPS location: processed based on your explicit consent.
City-level profile location: processed as necessary for performance of our contract with you.
IP-based approximate location and fraud detection use: processed under our legitimate interests in maintaining platform safety, preventing fraud, and ensuring geographic integrity.
Performance of a Contract
We process personal information where it is necessary to perform our contract with you under our Terms and Conditions. This includes providing core features of Omera such as account creation, authentication, profile creation, matching, messaging, and participation in events.
Legitimate Interests
We process certain personal information where it is necessary for our legitimate interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms. These interests include operating and improving the App, ensuring security, preventing fraud and abuse, analysing usage to improve features, and sending limited service-related or promotional communications.
Legal Obligations
We may process your personal information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including tax, accounting, regulatory requirements, or responding to lawful requests from authorities.
Vital Interests
In rare circumstances, we may process personal information where it is necessary to protect the vital interests of you or another person, such as where there is a serious risk to someone’s life or safety.
4. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION?
We share your personal information only when necessary and under safeguards.
Service providers
We share data with trusted service providers such as:
AWS (Amazon Web Services)
authentication providers
analytics and crash-reporting services
Server location:
Our Services are hosted on AWS infrastructure located in London, England, United Kingdom.
Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK-approved standard contractual clauses or adequacy regulations.
We may also share data as part of a business transfer or where required by law.
These third parties must:
only use your information on our instructions;
keep it secure; and
not share it with others except as permitted by us or the law.
Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, investment, or similar corporate event, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
Affiliates

Other users
As part of using a dating app, other users can see:
your profile (including name, age, photos, dishes, prompts, preferences you choose to share);
your activity within the app (e.g. being matched, attending events);
messages you send them.
Private messages are visible only to the participants, unless content is reported to us or we review it to enforce our Terms.
We do not post your profile externally by default, but you should be aware that other users may screenshot or share content outside the App.
We may also share information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with preventing fraud or abuse.
5. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?
Mobile app
The Omera mobile app does not use browser cookies. Instead, we use mobile SDKs (e.g. Firebase) to collect technical and usage data as described above. These are not cookies and cannot be managed via browser settings.
Website
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and web beacons) for:
basic functionality;
security;
analytics (e.g. to understand visitors and improve the site).

We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party ad networks in the App.
6. HOW DO WE HANDLE SOCIAL LOGINS?
If you register or log in using a third-party account (e.g. Google, Apple, Facebook):
we receive limited profile information such as your name, email address, and profile picture;
we use this information to create or update your Omera account;
we do not receive your password;
we do not automatically import your friends list or contacts.
Your use of the third-party service is governed by their own terms and privacy policy. We recommend you review those to understand how they process your data.
You may disconnect a social login from Omera via your device or settings with the relevant provider.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?
We keep your personal information for as long as:
you have an active account; or
we need it to provide the Services; or
we must retain it for legal, accounting, or regulatory reasons.
When we no longer need your information:
we will delete or anonymise it; or
if deletion is not immediately possible (e.g. backups), we will securely store it and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.
We may also keep minimal information to:
prevent fraud and abuse;
comply with legal obligations;
defend or establish legal claims.
You may delete your account at any time.
When you delete your account, your personal data is generally deleted or anonymised within 30 days. We may retain limited information where necessary for fraud prevention, legal compliance, or to protect the safety and integrity of the platform.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
secure cloud infrastructure
encryption in transit (and at rest where supported)
access controls and authentication
logging and monitoring
However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee that unauthorised third parties will never be able to defeat our security measures.
You should also:
keep your device secure;
avoid sharing verification codes;
log out or secure your device when not in use.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
In short: No. Omera is for users aged 18 or over only.
We do not knowingly collect data from, or market to, anyone under 18.
By using the Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.
If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will:
deactivate their account; and
take reasonable steps to delete their personal data.
We enforce our 18+ policy through mandatory date of birth entry and authentication procedures. If we reasonably believe a user is under 18, we will suspend and investigate the account.

10. YOUR RIGHTS
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have certain rights in relation to your personal information. These include the right to:

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES
Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting. There is currently no agreed standard for how websites should respond to these signals.
Our website does not currently respond to DNT signals. If standards change, we will update this Privacy Notice.
12. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS NOTICE?
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do:

where appropriate, we may notify you in the App or by email.
